Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in investment sales, financing, research and advisory services, announced today the sale of Holiday Inn Express in Gaffney, South Carolina, located directly off Interstate 85.
“This property was marketed for sale during the construction process and was sold after the hotel received its Certificate of Occupancy from Cherokee County. That in and of itself presents a unique set of challenges to navigate,” said McLean Hicklin, senior associate in Marcus & Millichap’s Columbia office. “This hotel serves as a fine example of Holiday Inn Express’ newest prototype construction, of which both buyer and seller should be very proud.”
Hicklin, along with Robert Hunter, first vice president in the firm’s Ft. Lauderdale office, exclusively represented the seller, a limited liability company based in Georgia. The buyer, a private investor in North Carolina, was also procured by Hunter and Hicklin. Ben Yelm, Marcus & Millichap’s broker of record in South Carolina, assisted in closing the transaction.
Holiday Inn Express is located at 1031 Hyatt Street in Gaffney, South Carolina. The brand-new, five-story, 81-room hotel is less than a mile from Gaffney Outlet Marketplace, a premium outlet mall. The hotel features an all-new business center, meeting facilities, fitness center, and outdoor pool.
